The Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) was established in 1993 as autonomous organization and independence of research, finance and administration, even under the sponsorship of their churches as prime minister. TÜBA currently has 140 members, including 40 honorary members, who were elected on their own.
The new statutory regulations published on August 27 to distribute to the people "choose between government and higher Education Board and TÜBA.
